What is a Mental Health and Wellness Reset?

June 1 – August 30

Beginning June 1, Pietas Coalition will enter a scheduled Mental Health and Wellness Reset that will continue through August 30.

During this period, the organization will temporarily reduce public-facing activities and response capacity while focusing on restoration, strategic planning, personal wellness, and organizational sustainability.

This decision reflects a core belief that those who work to protect others must also be intentional about protecting themselves.

Prevention Work Requires Endurance

Pietas Coalition was founded on a simple principle: Prevention is the best defense.

Every seminar, awareness campaign, educational resource, community partnership, and advocacy effort is designed to help families identify vulnerabilities before harm occurs.

While prevention work is rewarding, it also requires significant emotional, mental, and spiritual energy.

Advocates routinely engage with difficult realities, complex social challenges, and stories that can weigh heavily on the heart. Effective prevention demands vigilance, compassion, and clear thinking. Those qualities must be maintained and renewed if they are to remain effective over time. Just as communities benefit from prevention, organizations benefit from restoration.

Why Mental Wellness Matters

Strong organizations are built by healthy people.

When individuals continuously give without creating space for reflection and renewal, fatigue can gradually affect creativity, decision-making, communication, and overall effectiveness.

A planned reset creates opportunities to:

  • Rebuild emotional reserves

  • Strengthen personal wellness habits

  • Focus on family and relationships

  • Reconnect with purpose and mission

  • Evaluate programs and priorities

  • Prepare strategically for future initiatives

Rather than viewing rest as a pause from meaningful work, Pietas Coalition views restoration as an essential component of meaningful work.

Looking Ahead

The Mental Health and Wellness Reset will conclude on August 30. During the summer months, organizational leadership will continue preparing for upcoming initiatives, including expanded community safety education efforts and the annual Communities Against Trafficking Walkathon. This season provides an opportunity to reflect on lessons learned, celebrate progress achieved, and prepare thoughtfully for the next chapter of service.

A Commitment to Long-Term Impact

Pietas Coalition remains fully committed to its mission:

To promote awareness, vigilance, and community action to end underage sex trafficking through preventative education, veteran engagement, and citizen empowerment.

Sustainable advocacy requires sustainable advocates.

By protecting the minds and hearts of those serving on the front lines of prevention, Pietas Coalition positions itself to return with renewed focus, renewed energy, and renewed purpose.

We look forward to reconnecting with our partners, supporters, and community members in September as we continue advancing a culture of safety, awareness, and prevention.

With gratitude,

The Pietas Coalition Team
